A Physical Therapy Association That Cares
Known as the world’s third-largest physical therapy association around the world, the California Physical Therapy Association (CPTA) comprises over 93,000 physical therapists as well as assistants in the state of California. The main aim of this establishment is to build a community through the physical therapy industry while improving the health of society. One of the ways is to educate the citizens of California about the benefits of physical therapy and encourage people to consider going for these sessions to create a healthier life. Aside from that, through the continuous improvement and development of physical therapist research, education, and practice, the association aims to meet the needs of the people living in California. The CPTA also aims to strengthen the physical therapists by providing them a space for communication, networking, leadership, business development, and more.
Offering Education To The Public
CPTA provides various education conferences, courses, continuing education units (CEUS), and online education.
a) Continuing Education Units (CUEs)
All California licensed physical therapists and assistants must fulfill the 30 contact hours or 3.0 CUEs throughout their license renewal period. The hours should be obtained through the subjects that are related to client/patient management or professional practice of physical therapy.
Note: If you are a company that provides CEUs for physical therapists and assistants, you can apply and offer your CEUs for the public to join.
b) Courses & Conferences
Physical therapists or assistants can make use of the various courses available. Take note that you have to register early if you want to secure a placement.
c) Online Education
Are you looking to improve your skills and knowledge? The CPTA also offers online education whereby virtual classes will be conducted. Learn new skills in the comfort of your own home, anytime and anywhere! Their online classes are similar to the ones that you can find online, such as the Back in Action Program and the Back Education Program, to name a few.
A Thriving Community
If you’ve always wanted to be part of a community as a physical therapist, CPTA offers a special community through memberships! When you join as a member, you’ll get to enjoy multiple benefits including exclusive discounts and access to various helpful courses.
